The governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, said that his government is committed to fighting against insecurity and that it is sacred to them.
At the 7th annual gathering of the Imo Stakeholders Forum on Thursday in Owerri, the governor said this.
Uzodimma also said that he would bring criminals and others who did bad things to justice and warned them to stop doing bad things.
He praised the law-abiding people in the state for their unwavering loyalty and warned that the state’s enemies would be “firmly repressed” if they tried to make trouble.
“We are sacrosanct in our commitment to the safety of the lives and property of the Imo people.”
We’ll fight back against any attempts to destabilise the state and make sure that those who are giving our people nightmares are revealed for what they actually are. He declared that nobody was above the law.
He did, however, promise to spend a lot of money on infrastructure to help the people of Imo get ahead economically.

He said that vital infrastructure would receive 72% of the 2023 budget, paving the way for increased economic activity in the state.
“Capital projects have been budgeted for at 72% of 2023’s total budget.” With our idea of increasing wealth through infrastructure development, we are focused and logical.
He declared, “Our freshly built and currently under construction roadways will enhance intercity trade and commerce and increase our internally generated revenue.”
As Uzodimma gave his scorecard earlier, Mr. Pascal Dozie, the event’s chairman, urged the Imo people to demonstrate enthusiasm for the state’s progress.
“Everyone can make a difference in improving our state.” Uzodimma will have the opportunity to discuss his stewardship on this platform, he said, so that we can contribute to making Imo a proud place.
Prof. Maurice Iwu, a former INEC chairman, told the people of Imo that they should stay loyal to the government led by Uzodimma for the good of the whole population.
Ikedi Ohakim, a former governor of the state, as well as other former deputy governors and current and former members of the state’s Executive Council, were reportedly present at the event, according to the Daily Post.
Along with other traditional and religious authorities from the state, Chief ABC Orjiako, the Pioneer Chairman and co-founder of Seplat Oil and Gas Limited, was present.
