In response to the alleged rape of a Muslim woman in one of Ibadan’s mosques, several Muslim youths, scholars, and organisations protested in the capital city of Oyo State, Ibadan.
A source told Obasanjonews24 that the woman was in “Niqob” Purdah when the assault took place.
On Monday, the demonstration was organised by the worried Muslim leaders.
The demonstrators asked that the suspect be put on trial.
A Muslim woman in purdah was allegedly raped inside a mosque in the Iwo Road neighbourhood of Ibadan on Sunday, according to information obtained by Obasanjonews24 on Monday.
Unlucky incidence occurred on Sunday in Ibadan when the son of a road transport union slipped into a mosque and raped a niqobite, according to a source.
The worried Muslim leaders decided to protest on Monday as a result of this.
Sheikh Amubieya, an Islamic preacher with a headquarters in Ibadan, led the protesting Muslims.
Obasanjonews24 was informed by a second source that the suspect had been detained.
He declared, “Idris, also known as Kesari, has been recognised as the thug who sexually assaulted a niqobite (a Muslim woman wearing a veil).
“He is the offspring of Al-Majiri, a union boss. Police detained him, and the State CID has since taken over the investigation.
