An ex-lawmaker named Ben Murray-Bruce has advised the federal government to start a free condom distribution programme in the face of severe economic challenges.

According to Murray-Bruce, the proposal was made in light of Nigerians’ escalating economic problems, which have severely hurt the middle class and increased poverty rates.

The former congressman stated in a Monday post on his social media site that he thought a critical step in preventing a potential population boom was to guarantee that contraceptives were accessible to everyone.

In his essay, he stated that the federal government or the incoming Minister of Health must immediately start a free condom distribution effort because of Nigeria’s worsening economic problems, which have severely hurt the middle class and increased levels of poverty.

“Mitigating a potential population explosion requires ensuring access to contraceptives, especially given the likelihood that the majority of people who are financially strapped will choose basic needs above family planning practises. Future socio-economic catastrophe can be avoided with a little bit of precaution now.
