According to a source who begged to remain anonymous, the incident happened on Wednesday night at around 8:30 p.m.
He stated that the attackers, who numbered more than ten, broke into their victim’s home, which was situated on a lane that connected Enen Afaha and Afaha Ube, a suburb of the Uyo city, and carried out the crime.
Odiko Mac-Don, the state police command’s public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence and stated that the command had been informed of the police personnel’s murder, characterising it as extremely regrettable.
“We have that information, and it is an unfortunate situation,” he said. We’ve already started an inquiry and are determined to get criminal elements off the streets.
“Once more, we remain undeterred and remain dedicated to holding criminals accountable for their deeds.”
When the Obasanjo News24 correspondent visited the scene on Thursday, she observed people congregated and talking about the regrettable tragedy.
