Multiple bandits neutralized by troops

In connection with kidnapping, murder, the sale of weapons, criminal attacks, railway damage, cattle rustling, and farm destruction, 33 suspects have been taken into custody by the troops of Operation Safe Haven, OPSH, and no fewer than seven bandits have been neutralised.

In a tweet on its official X handle on Tuesday, the Nigerian Army Headquarters stated that the forces had also found various lethal weaponry.

According to the post, on November 13, troops detained a man named Suleiman Mohammed in the Bakin Kogi region of Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State after receiving a tip that he was in possession of an AK-47 gun and a cell phone.

In relation to an attack on a man named Mr. Sati Pewat on his farm in Tileng Paat village in Mangu LGA of Plateau State, the army detained five individuals that same day.

Similarly, on November 14, troops apprehended one Umurana Adamu who was in possession of an AK-47 weapon, a magazine, and nine 7.62mm special rounds after conducting a raid operation at Tileng Paat village in the Pushit area of Mangu LGA, Plateau State. Similar to this, on November 14, 2023, troops in Zangon Kataf LGA in Kaduna State’s Kamuru area detained Mr. Rufai Abdullahi, a suspected guns dealer, based on reliable information.

Six bandits were neutralised on November 14, 2023, when forces on a fighting patrol came into contact with them at the Kachallah high ground. The remaining bandits were wounded by gunshots and managed to flee.

One AK-47 weapon, two magazines, 52 rounds of 7.62mm special, one motorcycle, two Tecno phones, two packs of cigarettes, 56 rounds of 7.62mm special, and 112 rounds of 7.62mm NATO were found as troops further searched the area.

Another development is that on November 14, 2023, during a search operation at Kondo village, forces neutralised Musa Wada, a suspected bandit.

Furthermore, on November 14, 2023, troops were dispatched in response to reports of a premeditated attack on Tileng Paat hamlet in Mangu LGA, Plateau State, by suspected militias. The region was later occupied by patrol after the troops’ prompt response prevented the attack.

In a same spirit, on November 14, 2023, forces raided the kidnapper’s hideout in Biji Biji hamlet in Hawul and took Dahiru Ibrahim into custody. Three 7.62mm special rounds, an AK-47 rifle, and a magazine were among the items found on the suspect, according to the post.
