Mr P addresses Rudeboy in a heartfelt open letter, calling out the disrespect shown to him, his talent, and his wife.

An open letter has been penned by Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P from the disbanded music duo P-Square. The addressed recipient of this message is his brother Paul Okoye who goes by Rudeboy in the entertainment industry. Their latest disagreement resulted in their second separation.

According to Obasanjonews.com, the musical duo comprising Rudeboy and his twin sibling Mr. P parted ways back in 2016 but revived their collaboration in 2021.

Last month, Rudeboy confirmed in an interview that the group has split again. However, he did not provide any reasons for this separation.

During the interview, Rudeboy asserted that he was instrumental in the group’s success by emphasizing his role as a songwriter for most of their popular tracks.

In a public letter posted on his official Facebook page this Monday, Mr. P condemned his brother for showing disrespect towards not only him but also his abilities, spouse and kin.

“Dear Paul, my beloved brother,”

Although I’ve mentioned this multiple times before, I want to reiterate that there is no competition between us or anyone else. Yet, it’s hard not to notice the countless interviews where you belittle my contributions in our joint project and undermine all of our hard work together. Your latest interviews have been particularly hurtful as you proclaim to be responsible for 99% of P-SQUARE’s music while dismissing my role entirely. You even went so far as to label a song that I wrote – “EjeaJo” featuring TI – a failure simply because its views on YouTube weren’t impressive enough by your standards.”

Have you also deemed the songs “Get-Squared,” “Bizzy Body,” “Personally,” “Roll It”, Temptation, Alingo”,”More than a Friend”, Shekini, Say Your Love” ,Gimme Dat” ,”Senorita”, IGBEdu and some others unsuccessful since there was no acknowledgement given to them?

In my past interviews regarding P-SQUARE, I made sure to refer to the group as “we” and “us,” recognizing our teamwork. However, whenever you speak about it, your language consistently revolves around yourself using phrases such as “I” and “me.” This occurs even when we’re standing side-by-side which leaves me feeling disregarded.

Though neither my brother nor I are the most gifted artists in the world, we were both blessed by God with this talent. Moreover, after our last setback, He provided us with another opportunity to soar. However, perhaps you don’t grasp that concept as you’ve decided instead to turn Africa’s renowned and esteemed music group into a mockery once more.

It is crucial to comprehend that P-SQUARE’s fans did not adore them based on individual singing or dancing abilities. Rather, it was the combination of their efforts and harmony that created a magical experience which made us stand out. Our synergy as P-SQUARE exuded an irresistible force leading our fans to fall in love with us because of our distinctiveness and solidarity.

Undoubtedly, we both possess talent and I have frequently commended your exceptional songwriting skills in our interviews. It is worth noting that I express my appreciation for anyone who has composed a piece of music on behalf of us or myself as Mr. P. Unfortunately, rather than showing gratitude towards my praise-filled statements, you appear to relish emphasizing them needlessly while neglecting the fact that it was God’s grace which led us down this path of success.

You opted to collaborate with Jude in pursuit of the top position within P-SQUARE instead of uniting with me to reclaim our number 1 ranking in the music industry. Your actions consistently undermined and degraded my efforts.

You consistently assert that you are the songwriter, composer, producer, singer and backup vocalist of P-SQUARE; in fact, you go as far as being their video director, band promoter manager and even choreographer. You essentially take on every role necessary for P-SQUARE’s success! Therefore I am willing to give you 100% rather than the 99% which is what you requested – because truly speaking -you deserve it all!

I hold myself responsible for my tardiness in addressing your untruthful statement on Twitter back in April 2015 regarding exclusively composing and performing all tracks of P-SQUARE. I chose to remain silent then, following suggestions from loved ones, aiming at keeping the peace despite knowing it was incorrect; owing to which I am suffering consequences now.

Allow me to inquire, dear brother: In present times, who holds greater fame and achievement between Rudeboy and Mr P in comparison to their prior group P-SQUARE? Do either of us singly gather as large a crowd at arenas or stadiums as we did when part of the former duo? Have our solo projects reached such heights as topping charts worldwide like before?”

Is it possible for us to have the same level of crowd control and entertainment skills as P-SQUARE?

Frequently, I question the benefits of persistently disrespecting and demeaning me. Your constant disrespectful behavior extended towards not only myself but also my spouse, family members, creative abilities and concepts while additionally choosing to support Jude’s efforts in suppressing me.

It seems that you have gone above and beyond to incite the fans against me by convincing them of my jealousy towards you.

Despite all your efforts to turn the fans against me, they will never hate just me. Your actions have caused us both to disappoint and fail them, leading to their hatred towards us as a whole.

My sincere hope is that you are currently content. I truly want the best for you, my friend! To those who have accepted untrue fabrications and feel the need to leave derogatory comments on my page, I empathize with your position as you’ve been misled for quite some time. Kindly permit me to concentrate on creating music in a tranquil environment.
