Debo Adebayo, best known by his stage name Mr. Macaroni, is a well-known social commentator and comedian from Nigeria who has warned Lagos ians to be aware of those fueling the flames of tribal animosity ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial election.
Mr. Macaroni expressed his regret over the sharing of offensive materials towards tribes by some individuals.
His claim was made in a tweet from his verified Twitter account.
He argued that individuals should not be permitted to incite hatred among Nigerians by acting in their own self-interest.
“It breaks my heart to watch people spreading materials that incite tribal violence. In unison, we have been residing. Wed ourselves and conduct business as one.
Do not permit individuals to sow division among us out of self-interest.
We must reject tribal conflict.
We should preach peace, he tweeted.
