John Okafor, a comedian best known as Mr. Ibu, had one of his legs amputated a month ago, and he has no intention of getting off his sickbed anytime soon.

It’s reported that the actor’s health has gotten so bad that he scarcely speaks anymore. In addition, it has been reported that he had another surgery wherein a portion of the same leg that was severed last month was removed.

Fear has also increased as a result of the declining health of veteran actor Amaechi Muonagor, who has been admitted to the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra State, for more than two months.

“We are resigning to fate concerning the two actors,” stated Dr. Emeka Rollas, National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, in a phone conversation providing an update on the health of the unwell players.

Rollas continued, “As I speak with you, Mr. Ibu hardly talks anymore and has had another leg amputated.”

It has been reported that the sick actors’ illnesses have gotten worse every day.

Rollas, who visited Muonagor recently at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, with some of his colleagues in the Intensive Care Unit, said that the actor’s current condition is appalling and that he is hardly recognisable from his previous self.

“When you meet Amaechi Muonagor right now, you will cry because he is totally paralysed in both legs. Rollas urged all of the actor’s admirers and well-wishers to band together with other charitable Nigerians to help him through this difficult period.

He disclosed that, in light of Muonagor’s records with the Guild HMO and Insurance policy, he may not have authorised the N250,000 to be transferred to the unwell actor’s account from the AGN Trust Fund.

However, Rollas urged aspiring performers to make an effort to enrol in the AGN Insurance and HMO schemes.

Remember a few weeks ago when Amaechi Monagor’s cousin Tony posted the actor’s health status on Facebook, revealing that the actor was fighting for his life following a three-week hospital stay during which he was diagnosed with renal illness, diabetes, and stroke?

“This picture was taken when I visited my cousin Amaechi Monagor (Aguiyi) at the Nnewi Teaching Hospital two weeks ago,” Tony stated in his post. At first, I wanted to help in a discreet way as much as I could, but I later made the decision to clarify a few things in this article so that my friends, fans, and Amaechi’s fans, as well as the entire internet community, would be better informed.

Amaechi is presently suffering from diabetes, a stroke, and kidney illness. He had been enjoying his life and taking care of his diabetes over the years. He is currently receiving weekly dialysis at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, along with additional treatments,” stated Tony.
