Northern state confirms 20 cases of Mpox, urging residents to take preventive measures as health officials work to stop the spread of the virus.
The suspected cases were reported from March 2024 to present, according to Dr. Msuega Asema, the Epidemiologist for Benue State.

According to him, three out of the four confirmed cases have received treatment and been discharged. Additionally, he mentioned that there is currently only one active case of Monkeypox in the State.
According to him, the confirmed cases emanated from both Makurdi and Gwer West, whereas there are suspicions of infection in five local governments including Ushongo, Katsina-Ala, Gboko,Makurdi,and Gwer West.
