Three days after a Toyota Sienna bus crashed into the Omo river in Ogun State, two more bodies have been found there.

The death toll has increased to seven, all of whom were men, with the bodies being found on Tuesday.

According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the Sienna bus with the licence plate APP830HX was travelling from Benin to Lagos when it lost control on the bridge close to exit J4 in the Ijebu-East Local Government Area of Ogun.

Local divers found three dead bodies and saved one man on Saturday.

The divers also brought up two bodies on Monday, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

According to Florence Okpe, the FRSC’s local spokeswoman in Ogun, two more bodies were discovered on Tuesday, bringing the total number of fatalities to seven.

Update on Omo River crash: Two additional bodies have been discovered by local divers, bringing the death toll to seven, according to Okpe on Tuesday night.

The speeding, according to the FRSC spokesperson, caused the driver to lose control of the car, which then flew over the bridge into the lake.

According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the accident was the most recent of several others that had killed people on the same highway.
