On Saturday night, twenty-three residents of the Dei-Dei village in the Bwari local council of the Federal Capital Territory were kidnapped by gunmen.
According to information obtained by this newspaper, the victims were abducted between 8 and 9 p.m. from their apartments within a single tenant-shared facility.
Dei-Dei Mai Unguwar When Ibrahim Galadima was briefing our reporter on the incident last night, he said that an hour later, a neighbourhood security vigilante who had followed the kidnappers into the jungle had saved seven of the victims.
Galadima described the impacted compound as a new facility that was rented out less than six months ago. “It’s like the kidnappers who had left the area with their victims in three batches, had noticed our presence on their way into the bush and let the victims to go,” Galadima added.
