“The meeting will take place in the State House Banquet Hall, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, and the President-elect and Vice President-elect will attend. Candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives must arrive at the meeting alone and with their Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Certificates of Return.

“Only those invited to the meeting may attend. Date: March 13, 2023, on a Monday. Time: prompt 2 p.m. State House Banquet Hall at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, is the location. To allow for screening, all invited guests are required to arrive early and choose a seat before noon.

The meeting’s agenda was not made public, but a source who wished to remain anonymous claimed that it had nothing to do with the leadership of the 10th National Assembly, which will be inaugurated in June.

The subject of zoning for the Senate presidency, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and other important posts in the National Assembly will also be covered.

According to the source, the APC is attempting to prevent the scenario that occurred in 2015, when Senator Bukola Saraki was elected Senate President against the wishes of the party.

51 APC senators were waiting at the International Conference Center for a ceasefire meeting that was supposedly convened by the party leadership and President Muhammadu Buhari after Saraki, who represented Kwara Central Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly, was elected Senate President.

He was unanimously chosen by the 57 senators in attendance, and on June 9, 2015, he was sworn in.
