Seun Kuti, an Afrobeats musician, has mocked Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, who is currently being detained by the police in connection with the passing of Ileriloluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

After he left in the middle of 2023, according to Kuti, the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, refurbished the cell where he was being detained.

Remember how the renowned Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s son was detained in May after allegedly punching a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge?

In a video released while chatting in Pidgin on X on Sunday morning, Kuti claimed he paid for the cell’s renovation, including the installation of a toilet, shower, and walls, so that anyone pursuing him would appreciate being held by the police.

“There is information I have not before disclosed. It is crucial that I state it here. Tomorrow, it might be you. Do you know what I did as soon as I stepped out of Panti’s cell? Kuti said in a funny way, “I offered my employees money to go and rebuild the jail.

“I gave them money so they could paint the wall, replace the toilet, and replace the shower. I paid for this restoration out of my own pocket. Visit Panti and check if you truly believe it to be untrue.

“I made repairs to my lodging cell. I renovated it and removed the tiles. You know why I did it? Because I realised I might go back the next day.

“And now, Naira can enjoy my charity,” he remarked, laughing wildly.”
