Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, was killed, and a former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has urged the police to fully examine the incident.
On Wednesday, he made this announcement in a press release from his office.
He expressed sympathy to the singer’s family and friends and said that the late musician had become a “Martyr of a cause in a unique way.”
His words were that Mohbad’s passing had “highlighted the terror that the grip of the underworld on our streets inflicts on the society.”
Olawepo-Hashim expressed concern about the influence of cult leaders and drug lords on the music and entertainment industry as a parent of a son who enjoys art and music and who is only two years younger than the late singer “Kopoke.”
The affluent, gruff, and cruel, he said, utilised poverty to take advantage of the rising stars. He lamented the lack of a planned and disciplined support system for developing skills in families with low incomes.
He also exhorted the security organisations to defend young people holding vigils and calling for justice.
