Rapper Naira Marley stated that late musician Mohbad attempted suicide once as a result of family problems.
On September 12, 2023, Mohbad’s death was announced to Nigerians.
At the age of 27, the rapidly rising musician apparently passed away in Lagos from an ear infection.
Nigerians are currently awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination the police performed on his remains.
His Marlian gang, including Naira Marley, have been charged with either direct or indirect involvement in his enigmatic passing.
However, the musician and performer has stuck to his position that Mohbad’s sudden death was not his fault.
Naira Marley said to Reno Omokri on Wednesday that he had a recorded conversation with Mohbad in which he begged the late musician not to commit himself.
According to Naira Marley, on this specific occasion Mohbad’s “girl” called him to let him know her lover had locked himself in a room and was planning to commit himself.
When I was in America, he once called to tell me that he had locked himself in a bathroom and was contemplating suicide. I called back and kind of recorded the discussion by asking him, “Why do you want to kill yourself?
