Moghalu resigns from APC: Former national auditor departs

Officially resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC) is George Moghalu, who was once its pioneer national auditor and former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

There had been rumors about Moghalu’s resignation for some time, but his departure was officially disclosed in a letter dated August 26th, 2024.

In the letter, Moghalu stated that his reasons for leaving the ruling party were personal.

The APC chairman of Uruagu Ward 1 in Nnewi, Anambra State received the letter. Additionally, copies were forwarded to the party’s local government and state chairmen.

Moghalu conveyed his gratitude for the connections he formed during his time in the APC and bid farewell to his ex-peers through a missive titled “Resignation of Membership of the APC.”

The resignation letter, though concise and formal, conveyed the following message: “I extend warm regards from my family to you and hereby tender my official resignation as a member of APC effective immediately on August 26th, 2024.

It is my hope that we maintain our amicable relationship which has grown over time. My best wishes go out to you and all members of the party. Please accept this cordial farewell with continued regard.”
