Mob in Lagos decided to impose their own rules, which led to the murder of a robbery suspect

The incident happened at Olugboso, a neighbourhood in Lagos State, Nigeria’s Agege area.

A resident in this neighbourhood was the target of an attempted robbery by a person who is known as a robbery suspect.

According to reports, the perpetrator used a plastic or fake gun to threaten his victims while carrying out the crime.

An altercation with Victor, one of the residents, resulted from the robbery attempt.

A mob of locals attacked the suspect in retaliation for the crime and probably out of an angry rage.

The robbery suspect passed away as a result of the altercation with the crowd.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the PPRO for the Lagos State Police, confirmed the occurrence. He mentioned that Victor, who was involved in the altercation, is receiving medical attention and is apparently in stable condition, and that the suspect’s body has been transferred to the mortuary.

To ascertain the facts surrounding the suspect’s death and the incidents that preceded it, the police have opened an inquiry into the occurrence.
