Ministry of Petroleum changes, Niger Delta Development receives minister

A new minister-designate for Niger Delta Development has been named by President Bola Tinubu, who has also ordered minor changes to ministry nomenclature and portfolio distribution.

This was said in a statement made on Sunday in Abuja by Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity.

The president authorised the fresh change, which saw Abubakar Momoh transferred from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

A minister-designate will shortly be given responsibility for the Federal Ministry of Youth.

The Federal Ministries of Transportation, Interior, and Marine & Blue Economy’s ministers-designate have been reorganised as follows.

Adegboyega Oyetola is reassigned to the position of Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

(B) Bunmi Tunji-Ojo is promoted to Minister of Interior.

(C) The Hon. Sa’idu Alkali is promoted to the position of Minister of Transportation

Oyetola and Tunji-Ojo were once tasked with overseeing transport, marine and the blue economy, and interior, respectively, according to The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources is now home to both Ministers of State for the Oil & Gas Sector, who hold the following titles.

Sen. Heineken Lokobiri is the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources in (i).

(ii) The Honourable Ekperipe Ekpo is the Minister of State (Gas) and Petroleum Resource

The two ministers’ portfolios are listed as Ministers of State, Gas Resources and Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, according to NAN.

Additionally, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management’s name change to the Federal Ministry of Environment is approved by the president.

Kaduna State was given that portfolio, although no one has yet been assigned to it.

Every new modification is effective right away.

On Monday, the incoming ministers are anticipated to take the oath of office.(NAN)
