Minister of the Interior promises to revamp 4 services
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister of the interior, has committed to implementing extensive reforms in crucial areas of his ministry to improve their operational capacity.
Tunji-Ojo reiterated his dedication to carrying out President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” in a video broadcast on Sunday that the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) watched. This revolutionary strategy is targeted at reforming several industries.
The Federal Fire Service (FFS), the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOs) are the four sectors.
Tunji-Ojo thanked Tinubu for his leadership, expressed his appreciation for the chance to serve, and vowed to fulfil the duties assigned to him.
He made it clear that his main concern would be making sure that the administration follows through on its commitments and has a positive effect on Nigerians’ lives.
In terms of putting the “Renewed Hope Agenda” into action, the minister vowed to do everything in his power to keep the president happy.
In addressing NIS-related issues, the minister emphasised his commitment to improving the process for Nigerians looking to register and get passports for a variety of reasons.
“I tell Nigerians that we intend to move on with NIS reforms so that we can serve Nigerians with respect and get rid of any passport collection delays.
He emphasised, “We will also make sure that other problems related to the service generally are under control.
In addition, Tunji-Ojo promised to relieve congestion in NCoS detention facilities and give prisoners the chance to get better and reintegrate into society.
“Of course, with beaming life, and hope, we’d groom inmates and help inmates to ensure proper re-integration into the society.”
The minister added that he would make sure that emergency response times were improved as part of the proposed FFS reforms.
“As a ministry, we will use every effort to see that significant changes are made in the country’s fire service centres and that the response time is reduced to, say, 15 minutes.
The administration’s acknowledgement of the crucial role the service plays in protecting the public and infrastructure is further reflected in the commitment.
Tunji-Ojo also promised to make it a priority to defend national facilities and assets, as well as to make sure that the NSCDC is doing a good job of safeguarding the nation’s infrastructure.
The minister continued by saying that the administration’s goal of creating a more secure, effective, and wealthy Nigeria is reflected in his vows to reform all the services under his ministry.
“We’ll make sure that when it comes to the safeguarding of national assets, the NSCDC is required to act in a way that ensures our national assets are effectively protected.
“I guarantee Nigerians that, as Interior Minister, I would not back down from my resolve to take a cue from the President’s enthusiasm, tenacity, and dedication.
He continued, “I also guarantee that the Renewed Hope establishes itself in the Interior Ministry, and Nigerians will be proud of this administration. (NAN)(
