Minister of Labour calls on NURTW to reject violence and promote peace

The National Union of Road Transport Workers, or NURTW, has been urged to refrain from violence by its leaders by Minister of Labour and Employment Nkeiruka Onyejeocha.

During a courtesy visit on Tuesday, Onyejeocha provided the advise to state chairmen, the acting national chairman, and senior NURTW executives.

In addition to urging union cooperation, the minister pledged the support of the federal government in order to help all levels of government carry out their mandate and vision.

“A fresh start in the New Year promises hope again, and I am confident we will work hard together.

“You will collaborate with our vision and mandate, and we will cooperate with yours. Since maintaining peace in this nation is essential to ensuring the happiness of all citizens, this is our mission and mandate.

“President Tinubu will put out great effort to ensure that all agreements are signed by a variety of parties. The minister remarked, “I think you’ll spread the word about goodwill among your constituents and NURTW members.

Previously, despite all attempts by critics to disparage the Ministry’s efforts, Comrade Aliyu Issa Ore, the Acting National Chairman of NURTW, congratulated the minister for choosing to follow the path of justice, fairness, and impartiality in handling union business.
