The Labour Veterans and Trade Unionists Assembly expressed their disapproval of the low wages being paid to workers in Borno State.

The National Interim Chairman, Comrade Isa Tijani, criticized the situation, highlighting that some workers are receiving as little as N6,000 to N8,000 as minimum wage.

They also denounced the arbitrary deductions from workers’ salaries, cautioning that if left unaddressed, workers in other states could also be subjected to similar exploitation.

He emphasized the urgency for Labour Leaders to address the issue of full wage agreements implementation across all states before the new National Minimum Wage becomes law, citing the alarming situation in Borno State as a potential precursor for other states
