The fire engulfed three buildings, including two two-storey structures and one three-storey building, which were all located in the market known for its wide range of clothing, bags, and shoes.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFS) swiftly responded to the emergency, as confirmed by their official statement.

The Director of LSFRS, Margaret Adeseye, stated that the fire was reported at the intersection of Nnamdi Azikiwe and Docemo in Idumota, Lagos, at 07:41 hours. Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze.

Upon their arrival at 07:58 hours, the firefighters discovered that the fire had already spread to three buildings, including two two-storey structures and one three-storey building.

The LSFS is currently engaged in firefighting efforts to control and extinguish the flames. To effectively tackle the situation, additional resources have been deployed from the fire stations at Ebute Elefun, Ilupeju, and Alausa.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, and investigations are underway to determine its origin. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported at this time.

In light of the ongoing firefighting operation, the LSFS urges residents to cooperate with emergency personnel and avoid the affected area for their own safety. The priority remains on salvaging the situation and preventing any further damage or harm.
