Midnight burial of Mohbad was prevented by me. Baale
The Baale of the Gberigbe community in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, has admitted that it was he who stopped James Aloba, the father of the late musician Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, alias Mohbad, from burying his body at midnight.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, Mohbad passed away on a contentious note on September 12, 2023, and was buried in Ikorodu the next day.
Both online and off, people were outraged by the singer’s untimely burial and criticised his family for doing it before an autopsy could be done.
The Baale of Gberigbe, Oba Shotobi, claimed in a video that is currently viral on the internet that Mohbad may have been buried earlier if it weren’t for his intervention.
He claimed that the father of the dead wanted to bury him at midnight but that he resisted.
“Mohbad’s father wanted to bury Mohbad in the wee hours of the day he died,” the Oba Shotobi declared in Yoruba. I was the one who got in front of him.
