It was revealed that a potential burglar was terrorising the neighbourhood with the famed Chucky.
A man who had been terrorising and robbing residents in northern Mexico with a knife-wielding Chucky doll has reportedly been apprehended. Also restrained and taken into prison was the doll from a horror film.
In Monclova, in the northern state of Coahuila, earlier this month, the man, identified only as “Carlos N.,” was charged with endangering the public, disrupting public order, and demanding money from members of the public by using the doll, which has become popularised by the “Child’s Play” horror film series.
Former Monclova Police Director Juan Raul Alcocer told Fuerza Informativa Azteca that the man was frightening people by putting the doll in their faces. Considering that it is a crime, he was taken into custody.
Furthermore, it was claimed that Carlos N. was impaired by a drug at the time of the offence for which he was charged, which took place in the city’s main public square.
The offending doll and Carlos N were both brought to a neighbourhood police station where they were both handcuffed and had their pictures taken. The Chucky doll, which still had a huge knife sticking out of its dungarees, was placed up against a wall and held up by its hair while a mugshot was taken.
The policeman who handcuffed the doll was later reprimanded for the action, which was purportedly at the request of reporters.
Alcocer claimed that some media members had jokingly advised him to pose holding the doll and cuffing it. “He must take his position seriously and adhere to the rules; he cannot engage in such games.”
The 1988 film “Child’s Play,” which depicts the story of a mother who presents a doll to her kid but is unaware that the toy is “possessed” by the spirit of a serial killer, is where the “demon doll” that is the focus of the police’s inquiries first made its appearance on the silver screen.
Seven sequels were produced to the first movie. In two different murder investigations in the UK in December 1992 and February 1993, it is thought that “Child’s Play 3” was used as the “inspiration” for the crimes.
As a result of several video rental firms refusing to stock the movie in their stores, viewing of the film was later banned in the UK.
