Following the medical leave of absence taken by Dr. Baffa Bichi, the Secretary to the Kano State Government (SSG), Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has instructed Abdullahi Musa, the State Head of Civil Service, to oversee the SSG’s office.
Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson, made this point in a curt statement on Thursday in Kano.

According to Dawakin Tofa, the appointment resulted from Dr. Bichi’s medical vacation, during which he flew to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for treatment.
In a letter to Governor Shehu Wada Sagagi, the Chief of Staff, he said, the Head of Service “is to provide a supervisory role pending the return of the SSG in the next few weeks.”
According to our correspondent, the news followed rumours that had been circulating across the state for a few days, which caused the locals’ tongues to wag.
