According to reports, they planned to launch kamikaze drones from the Afghan border into the nation.

Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, said on Sunday that three purported agents of Israel’s Mossad intelligence organisation were detained near the Iranian-Afghan border for allegedly attempting to launch drone strikes.

The site claims that three Iranian nationals who were recognised as “Mossad agents” were apprehended in the mountainous regions between the two nations as a consequence of a cooperative effort by the intelligence services of the Taliban and the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence.

According to reports, the inmates intended to deploy suicide drones against locations in eastern Iran from the Afghan border. It is anticipated that they will be sent to Iran to be questioned. There are no other details available.

A week prior, in reference to the circumstances in Gaza, where the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are “expanding ground operations” following days of ceaseless air and rocket attacks on civilian targets, including hospitals and refugee camps, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi declared that Israel had “crossed the red lines.”

According to West Jerusalem officials, the Gaza conflict reached a new level on October 7 when Hamas, a violent Palestinian organisation, invaded Israel, murdering over 1,400 people and kidnapping over 200 more. In retaliation, the heavily populated Palestinian enclave was the target of attacks by the IDF.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reports that 9,488 people have died since the violence escalated, 2,509 of them are women and 3,900 of whom are children. Over 24,000 individuals have sustained injuries.

Protests demanding a cease-fire in Gaza have been held in large cities all around the world. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, stated on Monday that it “will not happen” that there be a ceasefire since doing so would mean Israel giving up to Hamas. He said a few weeks ago that “Hamas is part of the evil axis of Iran, Hezbollah [a militant group in Lebanon], and their supporters.”
