Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, the spiritual leader of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), has threatened politicians not to attend his church bazaar scheduled for next month if they do not make a donation.

In a video taken while one of his church services was being broadcast, Mbaka stated outright that he did not want anyone to attend the bazaar event and refuse to “break kola.”

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, visited the church programme last year and asked to be given a project to help fund instead of publicly announcing a donation.

Mbaka referred to Obi as a “stingy man” for refusing to make any donation public despite requests, which was strongly disapproved of by many Nigerians, especially the Catholic Church hierarchy.

After receiving a directive to that effect from Most Reverend Callistus Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Father Mbaka later apologised to Obi.

However, his video recording of the incident reveals that Mbaka didn’t accept his apology to Obi.

He said in his video clip, “We will conduct a bazaar on November 12th. Mega wealth is the goal. Mega wealth, not meagre. Everyone should attend and be well-prepared. Save the things you’ll use to thank God. You thank God once a year at the very least.

“Join us, and bring your friends. Don’t bring someone who will bring us bad luck. or a troublemaker who will show up here. Or anyone who shows up on that day and won’t break the coke.

“The activity that day was offering money to God. Don’t come if you are aware that you won’t want to participate.

“Bazaar is accompanied with a spirit. You will receive a microphone when we visit you and be instructed to murder a cow for God. It’s a…for God, not an insult.

You will only encounter difficulties if you refuse and try to cause trouble for us because you know how to get to the Bishop’s residence or somewhere else.

“I find it incomprehensible that a Reverend Father would be required to go apologise to a person who showed up for a fair and refused to break soda. And a story is being told about it. Right then turns into wrong, and vice versa.

“Let that not happen again, because if it does, he will be compelled to scavenge for food on the street with empty plates.

“Anyone who will get us into difficulties once more, nothing he touches will advance. God is right here, and you don’t need me to tell you that. Therefore, whomever causes problems for us is actually causing God grief.

“You will feel ashamed if you put your hands in whatever would happen to me. You might not be familiar with the person I’m praising, but I am.

“All the banks with which we do business should visit the bazaar and participate in the service to God.” They don’t want to rekindle our relationship if they don’t show up. It is business, indeed.

“So far, we thank Zenith and Fidelity banks. They have been working together. Fidelity Bank beat the coke record with N5 million last year.

The Zenith bank gave me the Prado vehicle that I drive.
