Fans who responded to the singer’s post in the comment area said that, while performing at an event in Calabar recently, he was robbed.

Mayorkun’s multimillion-naira necklace was allegedly stolen in Calabar, according to some of his supporters.

Singer Iyanya has responded to reports that he was robbed in Calabar together with his comrade Mayorkun.

He pleaded with the individual who took something from Mayorkun to give it back, promising to pay them back himself.

He wrote, “My Calabar people, this is very bad for the peaceful people I know us to be,” paraphrasing Mayorkun’s tweet. You just owe my colleagues in the government protection and excellent hospitality since they have brought me along to entertain you. Do you know of anyone who has embezzled from my brother?

Please give it back, and I’ll pay you back in person. At The Grand Hotel, drop it off. Please know that I will personally reimburse you.
