The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, or MASSOB, refuted a claim that an Igbo man won’t lead Nigeria until 2039 on Tuesday.

The group characterized the accusation as careless and insensitive, arguing that such could never come from its headquarters under Uchenna Madu’s leadership.

The separatist organization also demanded the immediate arrest of Asari Dokubo for threatening to kill Igbo people in a statement signed by MASSOB’s National Director of Information, Edeson Samuel, and provided to newsmen in Abakaliki.

We demand the immediate arrest of Melford Goodhead Dokubo, also known as Alhaji Asari Dokubo, for openly displaying an Ak47 -47 and threatening to kill Ndigbo following a visit to Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Aso Villa, according to the statement.

“No clan or tribe has a monopoly on violence, thus MASSOB’s nonviolence ethic shouldn’t be interpreted as a sign of weakness.

The group complained, “Nnamdi Kanu was arrested and detained because he is agitating for the emancipation of the people of Biafra, but a criminal, a kidnapper, and a pipeline vandalizer who killed many Nigerian security agents is brandishing with AK-47 rifle and the same government has turned deaf ear and blind eyes on him.”
