The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said that its staff had been sent to the location and recognised the incident via X (formerly Twitter).

Officials from LASTMA and #LagosRescue are on the site to take the necessary action. Road users need to be patient.
Both the cause of the explosion and the number of casualties are still unknown as of the time this story was written.
The crisis had been brought under control, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) subsequently announced.
According to the post on X, “the situation in Ojota is under control as the peddler truck conveying Diesel inward Ketu that went on fire has been extinguished.”
