Massive fire destroys TCN station in Lagos

A Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) electricity substation in Maryland, Lagos State, was completely destroyed by a nighttime fire on Saturday.

Following the extinguishment of the fire, Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, made this announcement in a statement.

She added that nobody died as a result of the fire.

“The heroic crew of the Ilupeju Fire Crew of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire that broke out at the Transmission Company of Nigeria power substation at Maryland Junction, Maryland, at about 20:06 hours.

“We are still investigating the cause of the fire and counting the valuables that were damaged,” Adeseye stated. “There were no recorded casualties.”
