The fire started at five in the morning, according to sources, and soon spread across the busy shops and stalls in the market.

While sympathisers rushed to the area to face the fire and stop it from spreading, containment proved to be very challenging due to the fire’s strength.

Witnesses claimed that store owners watched their merchandise burn, powerless to stop it. The market, which was formerly known for offering a wide variety of goods, including electronics, textiles, and fresh farm food, is now in ruins.

Authorities were still investigating the fire’s origin to ascertain whether it resulted from an electrical malfunction, carelessness, or some other source.

Residents of Kabba, meantime, have expressed dissatisfaction about the lack of firefighting supplies in the market, which may have helped put out the fire.
