Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, recently had surgery

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta (previously Facebook), had surgery to repair a knee injury he sustained while preparing for an impending mixed martial arts tournament.

Zuckerberg announced his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear on Friday via an Instagram post.

“I am on the road to recovery,” he wrote, providing an update on his surgery.

I recently had surgery to replace my ACL after Zuck tore it.

“Happy with the physicians and staff that are looking after me.

“I was training for an early-2019 competitive mixed martial arts fight, but that has been postponed a little bit.

I’m still excited to do it once I’m better.

“I am so appreciative of everyone’s love and support.”
