March is the targeted month for the production of gasoline and polypropylene at Dangote Refinery
Aliko Dangote, the President/Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, has provided an update on the progress of the Dangote Refinery.
He expressed confidence that by March 2024, the refinery will start producing gasoline and polypropylene, which will significantly reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported petroleum products. Speaking at the Dangote Cement Distributor’s award night, he also revealed plans to consolidate Dangote Sugar Refinery, Dangote Salt, and Dangote Rice into Dangote Foods.
This consolidation aims to leverage backward integration and create a stronger food subsidiary. By 2025, the group aims to produce one million tons of rice, leading to the creation of thousands of jobs.
Dangote emphasized the company’s commitment to continuous research and improvement to deliver high-quality products. He highlighted the enduring partnership with stakeholders and the company’s dedication to remaining Africa’s largest cement company.
The refinery has already commenced the refining of crude oil, starting with Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and JETA1 fuel, with gasoline and polypropylene expected to be produced by the end of March.
Dangote believes that the refinery will have a transformative impact on Nigeria’s economy, creating more linkages and supporting the growth of industries dependent on its byproducts, ultimately leading to job creation.
The success of our business is greatly attributed to the support of our customers, and we would like to express our gratitude to them. Mr. Arvind Pathak, the Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement, acknowledges the significant role played by our customers in ensuring our achievements.
