Sadio Mane, an Al-Nassr forward, has identified the individual who encouraged him to join the Saudi Arabian team.
In August, Mane transferred from Bayern Munich to Al-Nassr for €30 million.
Even though the former Liverpool star had only been with Bayern for a year, he suffered because of a significant leg injury and off-the-field issues.
Several European teams, including Chelsea, were said to be interested in the 31-year-old back in April.
Mane ultimately made the decision to join Al-Nassr, but he has since said that his mother had pressed him to support the Saudi side.
Mane stated, “My family encouraged me to come to Saudi Arabia, especially since it is a Muslim country,” according to EuroFoot.
My mother, who was overjoyed, insisted that I choose Al-Nassr.
Since then, Mane has made his professional debut with Al-Nassr, teaming up in the offensive line with captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
The former Southampton player has five goals in six outings for Al-Nassr in various tournaments.
