Mandojo, Tanzanian Singer, Killed After Being Mistaken for Thief
Mandojo, a Tanzanian singer, lost his life due to a case of mistaken identity where he was wrongly accused of theft.
Mandojo, a well-known Bongo Flava artist from Tanzania has passed away.
Mandojo tragically lost his life on August 11th, 2024, as he was erroneously assumed to be a criminal and beaten to death.
Musician Soggy Doggy expressed his sorrow on social media, confirming the news of his friend’s passing. He mournfully wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm your demise. You were not just my brother but also my dear friend; I will miss you dearly.”

May Mandojo rest in peace. It is evident that human life on this earth is fleeting. My heartfelt apologies to his brothers, relatives and friends. I am also deeply sorry for the loss of my brother @domokayatz but we trust in the perfection of God’s plan.
Paying his respects as well, Domo Kaya – a colleague of the deceased – wrote in a post: “My dear son, I simply cannot fathom that you were meant to celebrate your birthday on the 22nd of this month. It’s incredibly heartbreaking. May you rest in peace and may God grant you eternal illumination. You will always be my friend and brother.”
Mandojo’s life was cut short just a few days before his birthday.
His hit tracks such as Nikupe and Dingi have made him famous.
