Manchester United have reignited their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they aim to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window.

English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United has reportedly renewed its interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as they seek to bolster their underperforming attack.

United’s new manager, Ruben Amorim, has pinpointed Osimhen as a key target due to the difficulties faced by Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.

Interestingly, both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were excluded from the lineup for the Manchester derby, sparking additional speculation about United’s need for a prolific striker.

The 25-year-old Osimhen, on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in outstanding form this season. With 10 goals and five assists in just 13 matches across all competitions, he is enhancing his reputation as one of Europe’s most coveted forwards.

Manchester United faces significant competition in their pursuit of Osimhen, as Serie A powerhouse Juventus is reportedly at the forefront, seeking to secure him as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic.

Osimhen’s past achievements in Italy make Juventus an appealing option. Furthermore, Arsenal has expressed interest, with former Gunners star Emmanuel Petit encouraging his old club to target the Nigerian striker in January.

The €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract makes a potential move in January more complicated. Napoli’s director, Giovanni Manna, has dismissed recent transfer rumors, adding further uncertainty to the situation.

“I’ve mentioned repeatedly that no one has been in contact with us. Victor is a Napoli player currently on loan to Galatasaray. There’s been much discussion about this, but nothing significant is occurring,” Manna told DAZN.

Paris Saint-Germain is keeping an eye on the situation and may pursue the Nigerian player if Rashford, who has become a target for the French champions, transfers from United to their team.

Chelsea have joined the competition for Osimhen, and sources indicate that the London club might be a more appealing option than United due to their current trajectory.

The striker’s loan agreement with Galatasaray, the leaders of the Turkish league, features a break clause in January that could enable a transfer mid-season. However, his next destination is still uncertain due to interest from several major European clubs.
