A tailor named Kenneth is said to have killed his ex-lover, Ebenezer Agada, with a knife because Agada dumped Kenneth.
The investigation showed that Kenneth came to Kaduna from Makurdi and then checked into one of the hotels on Waff Road, which is right next to where his ex-lover, Ebenezer, works.
It was said that Kenneth came up with a plan to take the pond of meat from the woman after calling her several times and not getting an answer.
But Kenneth, who was put in jail by the Kaduna Chief Magistrate Court on April 20, 2023, said that when he couldn’t reach Ebenezer, he went to the Kaduna central market and bought a machete for N2000 and had it sharpened. He then went back to his base and waited for the right time to strike.
The suspect said that he was a tailor by trade and that he had spent a lot of money and time on the dead ex-lover, with whom he had been in a relationship for six years.
According to the suspect, he went all the way from Makurdi to Kaduna to win her back because he hadn’t talked to his ex-lover in months and they had promised to get married. When he got to Kaduna, he was surprised to find that she wasn’t answering his calls, so he made a plan for how to get to her.
He also said that she worked at a drugstore on Waff Road and lived with her aunt in a school on the same road, which is where he started his evil plans.
The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the incident by saying that on April 14, 2023, at about 21:30 hours, they got word that a crowd had gathered at the NEPA Roundabout in Kaduna and was beating and about to kill a suspect.
DSP Muhammad Jalige, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, said that officers were sent to the scene, where they found the suspect lying asleep in the middle of the crowd.
“From what we know so far, the suspect, whose second name is not yet known, struck his ex-girlfriend, Ebenezer Agada, 27, with a knife and cut her face and hands in several places.
“During the process, he cut off her whole left hand, saying that he had spent a lot of time with her and she wanted to leave him for another guy.”
“The victim was taken to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, where a doctor on call confirmed that she was dead.”
