Man Commits Suicide in Ogun Due to Hardship
A man in Ogun State tragically took his own life, reportedly due to severe hardship. Read more about the incident and its heartbreaking cause.
Ayobami Oshoko, 45, reportedly tragically took his own life in Abeokuta, Ogun State due to the challenges he faced.
The incident occurred in the early hours of September 30, 2024 at his home in Mango, Oke-Ata area.
The Ogun State Police Spokesman, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, revealing that Oshoko was suspected to have ingested insecticide.
His sister, Funmilayo, discovered his body and reported the situation to the Lafenwa Police Station. A bottle of insecticide was found next to him, suggesting the cause of death was suicide.

“A friend of the deceased visited his house and said he wanted to meet him.
When he entered the room, he discovered the victim’s body on the floor and raised the alarm after discovering that the victim had ingested a mixture of insecticide and herbal decoction,” the PPRO said.
“He left a note in Yoruba explaining the reasons for his decision. In the note, he expressed his dissatisfaction with his life and explained that he felt he had no option but to put an end to it. Discreet investigations are currently underway.”
