A man was arrested in Katsina for allegedly kidnapping a six-year-old boy. Discover the details of this alarming case.

Halilu Yusuf, 21, has been arrested by the Police in Katsina State on suspicion of kidnapping a six-year-old boy.

While addressing journalists in Katsina on Wednesday, ASP Abubakar Aliyu revealed this information as the police representative.

“At approximately 2pm on August 17th, the command apprehended Halilu Yusuf of Gezawa via Shinkafi village. The arrest was based on credible intelligence and connected to a suspected case of kidnapping involving a six-year-old,” he said.

According to him, the culprit enticed and abducted his mentor’s son from Kofar-Sauri neighborhood and requested a sum of N2 million as ransom.

Aliyu disclosed that the culprit had intercourse with the child in his quarters. Subsequently, he relocated him to a safer location without realizing that law enforcement agents were monitoring his movements.

According to the police representative, the culprit placed a secretive phone call and notified the father about his son’s kidnapping.

After receiving the report, the command rapidly mobilized its operatives under the leadership of DPO GRA Katsina and began to take action.

“He said that the suspect was successfully traced and arrested, resulting in the safe rescue of the victim.”

He additionally disclosed that the suspect had admitted to committing the offense during investigation.

After the completion of investigation, Aliyu stated that the suspect will face charges in court.
