Ayo Makun, better known by his stage name AY, is a Nigerian comedian and filmmaker who recently apologised to David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, for his remark at a comedy gig in Warri, Delta State.
Although Warri men are known for having “huge manhoods,” AY said on the show that he had been attempting to conceive for years before finally succeeding in having two children. However, the humorous man claimed that it took Davido, who has a “little manhood,” several children to father.
Since then, AY’s statement has gained popularity in the Nigerian online community. But he expressed regret for presenting the joke the way it did in Warri, stating to his younger colleague, “I am really sorry. Even calling it a joke is no longer appropriate. You have every right to be upset after seeing how the blogs used it because it wasn’t as hilarious as it had been throughout my tour of the US and Canada.
“Please understand that working in the entertainment industry is always a learning experience for all of us. Any criticism or unfavourable remarks should be directed towards me because of the poorly delivered joke in Warri. So, my younger brother Aburo, absolutely no justifications. No cause, am. I will always be your biggest supporter and I adore you, @davido.
Davido merely replied to the apologies on his social media accounts, “Nothing spoil baba mi,” with a love emoji.
