When Lovric scored early on, Napoli’s hopes of winning their first domestic championship since 1990 appeared to be dwindling. They only needed a draw to accomplish so.

However, Victor Osimhen’s leveler was sufficient to bring the Scudetto back to the largest city in southern Italy for a third time.
When Luciano Spalletti and his team arrive back in Naples, they will be met with an emotional welcome, and the celebrations are expected to last at least until their upcoming home game against Fiorentina on Sunday night.

Osimhen, a Nigerian striker, had the best season of his career and was essential to Napoli’s historic ascent to victory, thus it was fitting that he was the one to lead Napoli over the finish line.
Osimhen’s game-winning goal, his 22nd in 28 league games, sparked a commotion among the throngs of traveling supporters who occupied the Dacia Arena in Udine.
With a month till the end of the season and a 16-point advantage over Lazio in second place, Napoli’s patient fans will have ample opportunity to vent more than a generation’s worth of resentment.
