In a series of well-coordinated operations against rebels around the nation, Nigerian forces have successfully neutralized eight infamous terrorists and freed sixteen kidnapped hostages.

The Nigerian Army disclosed in a statement that it recovered a sizable cache of weapons as a result of these sweeping operations on its official X account on Monday.

Three terrorists were killed by the soldiers on September 22, when they stopped them from raiding towns in Borno State in search of supplies and logistics.

One light machine gun, one AK-47 rifle, two hand grenades, five AK-47 magazines, 200 rounds of light machine gun ammo, along with other stuff like cash and phones, were reported taken by the soldiers, according to the army.

In another successful operation, the military stopped terrorists conveying kidnapped captives through Uvaha village in the Gwoza Local Government Area based on reliable intelligence.

“The troops pursued the terrorists and killed one of them in spite of the intense downpour, causing the others to get away and leaving 16 hostages behind.

Six ladies and ten men were among the victims who were let free. A second check of the vicinity turned up two grenades, a bag of fish, and other random objects.

While acting on information of a gang of terrorists obtaining supplies from their collaborators, forces in Yobe set up a carefully thought-out ambush.

Four terrorists in the Gujba Local Government Area’s Madza and Azare villages were eliminated as a result of this.

It stated that two AK-47 firearms, two empty magazines for AK-47 rifles, and other random objects were taken by the military.

According to the post, soldiers stationed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) arrested suspects at Kugbo, Abuja, after stopping and searching suspected vehicles in coordination with other security agencies.

The report states that 178 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition were found hidden in a wheat sack after the suspect was searched.

The suspect also had a cell phone and ₦29,000 taken from him.
