Harry Maguire, a defender for Manchester United, has received an apology from Ghanaian MP Isaac Adongo, who made fun of him in front of lawmakers last year.

Remember how Adongo had taken a strange jab at Maguire last year during a parliamentary session when he was giving a speech criticising the economic policies of his political rival?

The Ghanaian vice president Mahamudu Bawumia, whom he accused of scoring political “own goals,” was likened by him to the England international.

When he made these remarks, Maguire was going through a rough time at Man United after losing his starting spot to Erik ten Hag.

However, in a Tuesday speech, Adongo expressed regret to Maguire for his remarks and called the centre defender a “transformational footballer.”

But Maguire has since acknowledged his apologies.

The former Leicester City player posted the following on Twitter on Wednesday in response to a video of Adongo’s most recent remarks: “MP Issac Adongo apology accepted.” I’ll see you shortly at Old Trafford.
