Noni Madueke shines with a hat-trick as Chelsea dominates Wolves in a 6-0 victory, showcasing their attacking prowess in a thrilling Premier League encounter.

On Sunday, Enzo Maresca secured his first Premier League victory as Chelsea boss with a resounding 6-2 triumph over Wolves, thanks in large part to Noni Madueke’s hat-trick. Meanwhile, Newcastle salvaged a contentious 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.

In Maresca’s debut game after replacing Mauricio Pochettino in the off-season, he led his team to a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City last weekend. This was following his move from Leicester.

Under Maresca, Chelsea began their success streak with a play-off victory against Servette in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday. However, it was merely an introduction to their goal-frenzy at Molineux.

In just 98 seconds, Maresca’s team got off to an ideal beginning thanks to Matheus Cunha inadvertently deflecting his clearance from a corner towards Nicolas Jackson. Being unguarded only six yards away, he headed the ball into the goal.

Wolves fans were already riled up with Chelsea when Jackson scored a goal that further aggravated their emotions, as Madueke had posted an unfavorable review of Wolverhampton merely hours before the match and quickly removed it.

In the post that stated “this place is s**t”, Madueke disclosed his whereabouts as Wolverhampton.

Later on, he expressed: “The Instagram account was completely wrong. You all are too quick.”

In the 27th minute, Cunha equalized for the hosts by once again tormenting the Blues – as he had done with his hat-trick at Stamfor Bridge last season.

Moises Caicedo of Chelsea lost possession carelessly, which allowed Rayan Ait-Nouri to advance and set up Cunha. Cunha’s powerful shot flew past Robert Sanchez, causing a joyful samba dance celebration.

In the 45th minute, Cole Palmer regained Chelsea’s lead by receiving Jackson’s flick as an England forward and beautifully launching it over Wolves’ keeper Jose Sa.

Ait-Nouri’s free-kick seconds before half-time resulted in The Blues failing to clear the ball properly. As a result, Toti headed it across to Jorgen Strand Larsen who scored from close-range with ease.

However, the tide of the rollercoaster game turned in Chelsea’s favor once again during the 49th minute when Palmer passed to Madueke whose shot ricocheted off Ait-Nouri and into the net.

Just nine minutes after his previous goal, Madueke scored again with a confident finish that went through Sa’s legs. This was made possible due to Palmer’s run which caused chaos in the Wolves defense.

With yet another Palmer assist, the 22-year-old replicated his previous two goals to complete his hat-trick and quieten the disparaging fans of Wolves.

After joining Chelsea from Atletico Madrid earlier in the week, Portugal’s Joao Felix marked his debut for the club by coming off the bench and sealing a convincing victory with an 80th-minute goal.

Having been loaned to Chelsea in the latter half of 2022-23, Felix scored an impressive goal into the top corner thanks to a pass from Pedro Neto, a former Wolves attacker.

Newcastle fell behind at the Vitality Stadium after Joelinton carelessly gave away possession, leading to Marcus Tavernier tapping in Antoine Semenyo’s low cross just before half-time.

In the 76th minute, Anthony Gordon scored a close-range goal off of Harvey Barnes’ cross to equalize Eddie Howe’s team.

Bournemouth expressed their outrage after VAR overturned a stoppage-time winning goal, attributing it to Dango Ouatarra’s handball before heading the ball into the net.

Later on Sunday, Arne Slot will take the helm as Liverpool’s boss for his inaugural Premier League home match against Brentford.

After nine successful years at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp stepped down and Slot was recruited from Feyenoord to fill his position.

Last weekend marked the beginning of the 45-year-old’s reign when Liverpool won their opening league match against Ipswich with a score of 2-0.
