LP warns self-proclaimed chairman Okafor, advising him not to jail himself. Learn more about the context and implications of this warning.
Callistus Okafor, the self-proclaimed National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has been sternly warned by LP not to deliberately land himself in jail for contempt of court.
Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the LP issued a caution on Friday in Abuja concerning Okafor’s assertion about chairmanship.
According to Obasanjonews.com, Okafor held a news conference earlier today where he stated that he participated in the 2014 National Convention of the Labour Party and proceeded to assert himself as their National Chairman without authorization.
According to Ifoh, the most recent development occurred subsequent to a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja which authenticated the Nnewi Convention of the Labour Party that selected fresh executives headed by Barrister Julius Abure as National Chairman.

Let it be known that Callistus Okafor has the ability to portray himself as a playwright, but instead opted for showmanship in order to please his audience.
Despite having held two successful National Conventions and the party moving beyond his imagination, we still have no idea who is playing drums for this former member.
In 2021, Mr. Callistus Okafor attempted to become the National Chairman of a political party in Nigeria but was unsuccessful after his court cases were dismissed by both the High Court and Appeal Court. This event may be familiar to Nigerians.
It was clearly stated by the Court of Appeal that Callistus Okafor is not permitted to use the Consent Judgement as a means to become the national chairman of the Labour Party.
The court reprimanded him and dismissed his suit, imposing substantial costs that he has yet to pay until the present time.
The reappearance of Okafor, defying the Court of Appeal’s decision has left us deeply taken aback and astonished.
