Ahead of the November 11 governorship election, Julius Abure, national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), has noted a serious concern.

Prior to the governorship elections, Abure stated that a significant cause for concern is the degree of insecurity in the states of Kogi and Imo.

Speaking on Sunday, the LP chairman said, “My party and candidates are very worried about the security situation in Imo and Kogi, especially.” on Channels Television’s People’s Townhall on Election Security. Throughout our campaigns, unidentified gunmen have repeatedly attacked our offices. Security services have occasionally accompanied [those who carry out] some of the actions that occurred during the attack on our office.

“These actions all bring up grave concerns about the safety of people and property, particularly in Imo and Kogi. As a political party, Imo and Kogi are our top concerns.
