Living Faith pastor in Benue subjected to savage assault by angry mob, resulting in severe injuries
An angry mob falsely reported that Dr. Aime, a pastor of the Living Faith Church and lecturer at the Akawe Torkula Polytechnic Makurdi in Benue State, had stolen genitalia. The mob assaulted and battered Dr. Aime viciously.
On Wednesday, Dr. Aime allegedly preached at a gospel outreach in the Wurukum neighbourhood of Makurdi. However, problems arose when he touched a young man and asked for prayer.
The young man reportedly raised an alarm when his genitalia disappeared.

Before military and police personnel arrived to save the preacher, sources claim that Okada riders gathered him and almost lynched him.
After that, Pastor Aime and the supposed victim of genital theft were taken to the E Divisional Police in Makurdi, where the officers verified that the alarm was false and that the genital that had been stolen was still in place.
Anyone who filed fraudulent reports on genital theft in the state would face legal action, according to the DPO of the E Divisional Police in Makurdi.
The family of the young man who reportedly set off the false alarm is reportedly pleading with the authorities to drop the charges against him.
