On Monday night, a regrettable incident took place as an Irish Liverpool fan of 51 years lost his life while trying to cross the A4 highway close to Orio al Serio Airport in Bergamo, Italy.
Several Italian media outlets have reported that a fan, who remains unnamed, was hit by a vehicle soon after arriving in Italy from Manchester.
There was no trace of the two companions who had traveled with him, as local authorities discovered the man’s body near the airport.

The Italian newspaper Il Corriere della Sera reported that the late individual was a committed fan of Liverpool and possessed a ticket for the greatly anticipated Champions League game at San Siro stadium between AC Milan and Liverpool.
