LG Autonomy: Support Tinubu to Strengthen Democracy in Nigeria- Al- Mustapha
Hadi Al-Mustapha, the younger brother of Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer of the late military dictatorship, Gen. Sani Abacha, has mobilised support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration in response to actions taken to guarantee local governments’ autonomy in the nation.
Al-Mustapha praised the President for making what he called necessary but difficult decisions to realign the nation’s economy and strengthen democracy in a statement released in honour of Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebration.
“The government needs everyone’s support because the President is making the correct decisions. After the elections, politics is no longer relevant. Now is the time to rebuild Nigeria, and everyone must contribute in some way.
It is admirable that the administration is battling for local government authority. It’s a brave and difficult choice. If it is successful, Nigerian democracy would experience a new dawn, and the country’s rural residents will benefit from democracy.

Not only that, but the President is addressing the economic issues head-on and with determination, so I have no doubt that we will start to see results very soon.
“People ought to be patient with this government in order for Nigeria to emerge from its current predicament. This is not the time for politicians to play the normal games they prefer to play; everyone, regardless of political affiliation, should support the government. Nigeria needs to be rebuilt now,” he declared.
The businessman from Kano praised Tinubu for his brave actions.
He said, “I’m not a politician and I don’t belong to any political party, but the brave actions of the Tinubu administration have compelled me to make this appeal.”
In addition, he exhorted lawmakers to “lead on rebuilding Nigeria by offering advice and constructive criticism to the government, and stop negative and destructive criticism that can slow down governance.”
He claimed that Tinubu had demonstrated that he was a President who listened.
Thus, he exhorted lawmakers and public figures to capitalise on the President’s demeanour by making insightful and progressive criticisms of the administration.
